Day of Absolution is a series of select images taken between the years of 2016-2018 in Los Angeles California, which have been compiled into a 20 page zine five years later. These images were taken during the ages of 14 and 15, the beginnings of the early stages of adolescence—the first taste of independence, while still very much dependent. There is no parental presence, except for the opening page, which features a scanned birthday card. The people documented here shaped my everyday life for just under three years. Many of them I’ve now lost touch with; others, to this day, are like family to me. There was this pressing need to photograph them—I believe now it was the only way I was able to express my gratitude for their pressence when words would not suffice
